Description: well i had always wanted a nose ring ever since i was a kid, and one day i had this crazy urge to just do it myself because i knew my mother wouldn't let me get it done. Stupid me, i took a 18g or 20g (i think) starter earring... i had nothing else? I was in my bathroom and i disinfected the ring, i cleaned the area around my nose where i wanted it done, washed my hands and kept lots of paper towels by me! This was right after i got home from school, so i had to do it quick before my mom came home. Well it tooka few tries, and my eyes watered like crazy, and my ahnds were shaky from squeezing the skin so hard but i eventually got it through. It didn't hurt too bad at all - less painful than doing my ears. I was so excited and so overjoyed i couldnt belive i had a nose ring !! But it was so red, and i didn't have any nose rings (i was pretty dumb...) so i walked around with a ridiculous earring in my nose. it wasn't gigantic, but u knew it wasn't a nose ring. Pretty embarassing looking back on it.

Nobody had informed me of proper care.. beacuse of those I asked, and certain websites i referred to and with prior expericen with piercings, i always used rubbing alcohol. BIG MISTAKE! The skin was flaky and very painful and i didn't know why. Then my friend told me to use Peroxide. I didn't see any difference in that, but finally i got a right answer. SALINE SOLUTION! I had maybe months of redness and dryness and some infection, not bad, but it was still infected - and then it went down a great deal after using the salene solution. It only took a very long time in this whole process until it looked decent and I ofcourse got a real nose ring... The only problem was.. It wasn't an L shaped, and ofocurse wasn't a starter, so every single night it would come out when i slept. I have lost so many nose rings becase of this, but 80% of the time i find it in my sheets right underneath me. But let me tell you, it is unfortunate when i can't find it. Anyway, some nights it was easy to get back in, but sometimes it seemed like i was repiercing it. It wasn't really painful tho through all that - just annoying. And i still loved the piercing all the same so i pretty much fought to keep it.

I still have it, maybe... 7 or 8 months? (Yeah, i went through all that within that time) It wasn't until recently when it got really infected... Like, a big bubble of pus and somewtimes blood right next to it which takes FOREVER to go away and I don't know what to do about it. There was this one time i had it infected right before i had a show (in my school's play) and i pretty much did everything you shouldn't do to get it to go away but it was insane! And now slightly smaller... this has happened again!! It makes me so mad and i alsmot think its pointless to keep it. But i have to get the infection out before it heals otherwise it'll be gross forever (or what seems like forever)... I still want to keep it though! I thought of many possible things... it could just be rejecting the type of jewelry... because maybe i am allergic? I clean it EVERY night tho, and occassionally clean the ring itself too. But i have cute rings that cover the infection sometimes... I can't let go of it!

In the picture you can see the infection.
