I have been told lately that I am going through a mid-life crisis, but I don't really think so. I just think that I am taking more interest in my appearance. I had weight-loss surgery in December 2005 (Lap Band) and have lost 40 pounds so far. This has been a big boost to my health and self-esteem. It is with this life changing event that I became more focused on my appearance.
For years, I had had 4 piercings in my left ear and 2 in my right. I decided to add an ear cartilage piercing in my left ear about a week ago. I had it done at the mall with a gun (big mistake). The piercing didn't hurt, but the ring they used stabbed the back of my head when I slept on that side. So, I went to a tattoo and piercing place to get it changed out to a captive ball ring. What a difference! So much more comfortable and easier to clean. The next day I went back to get 3 more piercings in my right ear.
Two days later I finally got enough nerve and got my nose pierced. My piercer, Jesus, is the best! He is very professional and knowledgeable. The piercing hurt somewhat and burned for about 30 minutes afterwards. There was very little blood, swelling and redness.
It is now the day after and everytime I go past a mirror I just have to look. I think my little stud is so cute and sexy. I have ordered a 14k white gold nose screw with a little diamond for when my piercing heals. I have also ordered some H2Ocean for aftercare.
