For the longest time I thought nose piercings were tacky. But that is because most of the people I know who have them, they were self-pierced with a regular earring. So in the nose they really stood out. But recently I have been seeing smaller and smaller jewelry in them but still I hesitated.
I already had 8 piercings (would have been 9 but took one out when it was a little uncomfortable for a few hours and it closed). Anyhoo, I knew I wanted another and was seriously considering the labret. My husband is usually supportive of my decision but he put his foot down on that one. But then he said we would work out a compromise. He said he wouldn't complain about me getting my nose pierced because the jewelry is so small.
So I was out with my friend and we stopped at the mall because she wanted some more jewelry for her navel and a store had some really cute stuff on sale. Since I knew I was getting the nose piercing, I got a purple screw because that is my favorite color, along with a purple titanium horseshoe for my eyebrow.
We head over to the piercing shop and my friend decides she is getting her cartiledge pierced. They tell her the price and tell me on top of the piercing price, I needed to buy the jewelry. But lo and behold, I already had the jewelry. So the piercer puts it in something to clean it. My friend goes first, no big deal. Then comes mine. The piercer hands me some tissue because she said my eyes were going to water. She marks it and I go over to the mirror to approve it. Well, dummy me puts the tissue in my pocket :/ I sit back down in the chair, hold my friends hand and close my eyes. I feel the needle go in, it hurt REALLY bad but only for a second. The piercer puts the screw in & we realize I was bleeding. So she hands me more tissue and told me to keep it on there for maybe another 5-10 minutes. That is the ONLY bleeding I have had from it. It does not hurt, even when my 3 year old son touched it when he saw it. It only hurts when I yawn. But I am able to do normal things with it like before. I can wash my face (even at 27 years old I have severe acne) and everything.
I am just wondering why I was so against it in the first place. I love it and it looks so cute. In 2 days I have gotten so many compliments. I know the picture isn't the greatest but it will have to do for now. My husband has been working for 48 hours straight and so I had to take the picture all by myself.
Anyone who wants it done, I say GO FOR IT! You won't regret it.
