Ok... So, I've wanted to (LITERALLY) get my tongue pierced since i was 6 years old. can you believe that? HA! Well, my dad had a girlfriend at the time who had many piercings, one of which was her tongue piercing.. So, i've always been totally in love with the tongue piercings.
I decided that i would drag one of my good friends, Elizabeth, and my ex, Christian with me. I am driving on the 405 to Huntington and the whole wya there i am thinking what is wrong with me? Why am i doing this? I am probably going to end up fainting or throwing up all over the girl!!!
I get to the piercing/tattoo place, called Tommy T's, and i am more nervous than i could possibly ever imagine. I stood there shaking and about ready to pass out... But i didn't, thank you very much. Aren't you proud?! (jk)So, anyways, i get there, i already said that! Oh well. I am standing there, when Tommy the owner asks me what he can help me with.. I could barely speak i was so nervous. I told him that i think i wanted to get my tongue pierced. He told that i would have to pick out what type of barbell i would want and than he would go ahead and steralize it for me and get everything set up. So, i ended up choosing a pinkish clearish one(my fave color is Pink. PINK RULES!!!!) Anyways, he told me that it would be about 5 to 10 minutes while he got everything set up and ready to go. I told her ok, and since i was so nervous, i went outside to cool off and take a little smoke break. So, i smoked my cig and went back in.
He told me to sit in this light blue doctor's kinda sorta chair and get comfortable. (yeah right!!) I sat down. He showed me the needle and... you should of seen my face. I was like, " I dont wanna see that!!"
ok.. sO, he then made me do the usual, you know, rinse your mouth out with that nasty shit, which is supposebly Listerine, but it tastes like shit. So, then he clampped my tongue. The weird part about the tongue clamp thingy was that most of my friends told me that the clamp hurts.. but it is actually not painful what so ever!! So, i dont know what they were on, but it doesnt hurt.
Then came the scariest part.. the needle. I mean, c'mon! Can i you imagine something shoving something through your actual tongue. And trust me, when people say that biting your tongue hurts more, Trust them!! Because it does. He told me that he was going to stick it though on the count of 3 and i was like ok. So, he was like 1....2...3... and then my friends laughed at me. No one told me that he shoved it through on 1!!!!! I didn't even know when exactly he finished!! Oh well though. So, trust me when i say, it doesnt hurt AT ALL!!!!! It is the slightest pinch for not even a remote second and then its done! Its all over. It is worth being nervous because you build yourself up to be sooo incredibly nervous that once they are done you'll be proud of yourself and you will think, " that was SO easy!! I am soo proud of myself for doing that!" I had a smile on my face the whole way home! I absolutly love it and the even better thing is, is that i did it for myself... NOT anyone else, or for the looks, or becuase its now a very trendy thing. I love it and you will love it too!!!!!!
The piercing itself will be swollen for about a week, but you lose weight and you get to eat as much ice cream as you want (its kinda like getting your tonsil's out!) Make sure you use a lot of Listerine and brush your teeth a lot because it helps. And brush your tongue too!!!!!!
Tongue piercings rock. I definitely recommend getting it done if you want it that bad! It's awesome and its fuckin awesome to kiss someone with it!! So, go ahead... I dare you!!
If you live in Orange County, and you want to get your tongue pierced, go to Tommy T's in Huntington Beach and have Tommy Pierce you. The people there are very nice, its a very welcoming and calm kind of place. Just ask for the Tommy with the muscles he rox!
p.s. never underestimate the power of Listerine! It helps you soooooooooo much!!!!! It tastes like shit but it helps like a miracle!
