I had been wanting to get my tongue pierced for about a year, but had been putting it off because I was scared. Well, the time had come when I really really was wanting one, so I just decided, what the heck, I'll go ahead and get it done, so I did.
I called up by best friend, and told her that I wanted to get mine pierced (she has her's done) and she was telling me that I should get it done near where she goes to school, so we planned a date, which was Friday, May 6th, 2005, and we went.
Walking up the street to the piercing parlor, I was nervous as hell; my stomach was all in knots, and I was scared. When we got inside, and I told them I wanted to get my tongue pierced, the woman that was giving me the paperwork to fill-out and sign, was talking to me and I told her I was really nervous, and she said if you're nervous it just makes it worse, so I took a couple deep breaths, but before I could finish, the piercer was ready for me !!
I went in the room... my best friend came with me to hold my hand, lol. I had to rinse out my mouth first, but the mouthwash was really cold and hurt my teeth Anyway, she then had me stick out my tongue so she could see the length, and where she could pierce. Since I have a small tongue, she had to pierce it more towards the front of the tongue, but she did it at an angle.
I had previously read some people's experiences on various websites, and some people had said that the clamp hurt more then the needle.... they were so WRONG! As the title of my story says... yeah it hurt, but I like it!.. I know everyone has a different pain level, but for me, that needle going in hurt pretty bad, and I started drooling like crazy, but thankfully I was given a papertowel before hand so I wouldn't drool on myself. When I felt the pain I started to hum a little bit, which took my mind off of it, so you can try that, lol.
After it was done I rinsed my mouth out with mouthwash again, and the piercer and my best friend said I was talking good for having just gotten pierced.
It's been a couple days since I got it done, and the swelling is still present, as well as the pain, but that will go away soon.
My eating regimine has been ice cream, ice cubes, and cold apple juice. Plus taking ibuprofen every 6 hours or so.
I recommend anyone that wants to get their tongue pierced, to do it, because even though it hurts, you'll love the look after.
