Ever since I was a child, I admired body art. I started filling my ears up in 6th grade, but when I turned 18 I decided it was time to move on. I got my lip pierced at a really awesome studio located in the Westhimer/Montrose area, an area in Houston known for 3 things- art, music, and gay pride.
Anyhoo, my studio experience was awesome, but 4 days later, I woke up to a HUGE freaking lip. It was absolutly scary.
I didn't know what to do, so I stayed home with Ice on it and I prayed all day long in hopes of a miracle.
It eventually went down. The cause was overnight swelling. The ring had set tightly on the corner of my lip and my head wasn't propped up.
From the event, I got a "bump". I'm still don't know what it is.
The bump is still here...it has it's ups and downs, but it's never left. I'm hoping it does soon.
I'm doing sea salt soaks, hot compresses, and i'm using tea trea oil like oxygen.
It's finally showing slow signs of improvement...but i can't really trust it.
I love my piercing, the placement, the feel...everything...except the bump.
